Welcoming Coalition Meeting

Friday, December 5, 2025 (11:00 AM - 1:00 PM) (CST)

Description

Join the Welcoming KC Coalition for our end-of-year meeting to get a crucial update on the rapidly evolving immigration, refugee, and legal landscape in the Kansas City area and nationally.
Hear from frontline experts—including leaders from JVS (Jewish Vocation Services), the KC Asylum Clinic, and AIRR (Advocates for Immigrant Rights and Reconciliation)—as they provide a detailed "download" on the major policy changes, including the impact of HR 1 on vital safety nets like SNAP benefits, and the legal challenges facing refugees, asylum seekers, and the undocumented community.
This is a vital opportunity for coalition members, non-profits, local government, and businesses to gain clarity on the current environment and discuss how to mobilize support for our neighbors.
Lunch will be provided.
Action Item: In solidarity with families losing crucial benefits, we ask all attendees to bring non-perishable food items for donation to a local food pantry.
Note: The session will include a Q&A; however, speakers are unable to provide specific individual legal advice.
