Join us at Zhou B Art Center KC for ‘Placemaking’, our 2026 Resident Group Exhibition opening Friday, June 12 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

In connection with the global energy of the FIFA World Cup, this exhibition brings together resident artists to explore the many ways we understand home. For some, home is rooted in geography. 

For others, it lives in people, ritual, memory, language, culture, or the feeling of belonging. As Kansas City welcomes visitors from across the world, Placemaking invites guests into our home at Zhou B Art Center KC. 

Through a dynamic range of mediums and perspectives, the exhibition offers a personal and expansive look at the artists who help shape the creative heartbeat of Kansas City. 

More than a group exhibition, Placemaking is an invitation to reflect on what we carry, what we inherit, what we build, and how we welcome others into our world.
