About Gordon Parks Elementary
At Gordon Parks Elementary School, nestled in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri, they are more than just a public charter school. They are a vibrant community of learners, educators, and dreamers who celebrate the infinite potential of every child. Their commitment to education began in 1999 when founders Dorothy Curry and Sue Jarvis ignited the spark that has now grown into a beacon of hope for young minds in kindergarten through fourth grade. The school's namesake, the pioneering African-American artist and intellectual, Gordon Parks, is more than an inspiration - he is a symbol of the heights their students can reach.
