Foundations of Disability Inclusion: An Interactive Journey for Every Workplace

Tuesday, September 1, 2026 (9:00 AM - 10:30 AM) (CDT)

Description

Part of the 2026 Inclusive Leadership Workshop Series, presented by American Century Investments, Hallmark, and JE Dunn Construction. Our 2026 Presenting Diversity Sponsor is CommunityAmerica Credit Union.

Disability inclusion is more than a policy—it’s a day-to-day practice that shapes culture, strengthens teams, and fuels innovation. This four-part, highly interactive series, presented by the Center for Disability Inclusion (CDI) in partnership with the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, provides practical, step-by-step tools for building workplaces where people can thrive.

In this second session, participants will engage in digital, game-based activities, large-group discussions, and table-level exercises that encourage collaboration and reflection. This interactive workshop breaks down barriers by building a shared understanding of respectful, inclusive language around disability. Attendees will gain confidence in how to talk about disability with clarity and respect.

Designed for professionals across industries and business sizes, this session lays the groundwork for meaningful inclusion across teams, customer interactions, and workplace culture.
