At The Table: Preparing to Serve is an interactive board readiness training from Support KC designed for individuals who are interested in nonprofit board service and want to better understand what it means to serve effectively.
Through facilitated discussion, practical exercises, and real-world scenarios, participants will explore nonprofit governance and fiduciary responsibilities, board member roles and expectations, fundraising and advocacy, inclusive board practices, and how to assess their own readiness, strengths, and alignment with mission-driven organizations.
Following the training, participants will have the opportunity to explore potential board service opportunities through Onboard KC and may opt into a personalized concierge board matching service to help identify organizations that align with their interests, skills, and goals.
Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of effective board service, greater confidence in what they can contribute, and practical tools to help them find the right opportunity and take their next step toward service.
